Travelplans for this year

Venice, Summer 2016
It is January, it is cold and grey and my heart longs to be somewhere else. At school I already asked if it would be possible to make a studytrip to Nice or something like that. There must be a school in Nice I could visit?

Of course I know this is not possible, so I console myself with thinking about the cities I want to visit this year. I am still thinking about it, the only vacation I am sure about it the one in May, which I will be booking soon.

May
In the vacation in May I want to visit Venice again. I love this magical city, although I am not unaware of the problems tourists bring to Venice. The only thing I can do is to actually stay in the city, and eat in restaurants and buy only things made in Venice.

I really want to see some of the Islands in the lagune and I am looking forward to it.

Summer holiday
In the last weeks of July of perhaps the first week of August, I want to go to Italy again. This time to a city I have not been to before. I am thinking about Turin of Genoa.

If it is possible, perhaps I will make a small trip to a Belgian city as well, like Brugge or Gent. I have never been there before and I hear these are amazing medieval cities, so plenty for me to see and enjoy.

Oktober
Oktober is still far away, and I am also not sure what I want for this vacation. Perhaps Paris, or perhaps I will visit one of the cities in my own country like Maastricht. I was there many years ago and I liked it very much. But the French city of Bordeaux is also an option :-) It depends on my financial situation and what I want.

So much to think about and perhaps it will change completely. The only thing I am sure of is Venice in May!

  1. I hope you get to Venice, Paris and beyond in 2019! (And post lots of pics.) My own travel plans are a bit limited this year because I'm still recovering from unexpectedly having to buy a new car last summer. There went my savings. So if I go any where this year, it'll have to be close by...or by book. :D

    1. When I go somewhere I will definately post travel photo's!! Ah, and sometimes we have plans, but other things come between them like broken down cars etc. It is so unfortunate that you can spend money only once!

      Kind regards,

    2. :D But wouldn't it be great if money could magically replenish itself?

    3. I always think a little money-tree on my balcony would be nice!!

  2. I have not been to Ghent, but I loved Brugge, and I'd definitely recommend it! Also Maastricht is a fun place... One of the best things about travelling is planning, I think - so keep making plans & enjoying yourself!

    1. Good to know you recommend Brugge! Yes, Maastricht is also very beautiful, almost un-Dutch in the atmosphere :-) But I think I cannot go wrong with picking one of these cities.

      Kind regards,
