The last exhibition of the year

I saw 12 exhibitions this year and most of them were amazing. Last week I went to the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, which houses mostly modern art.

There was an exhibition about Chagall, Picasso and Mondriaan, and the theme was migrants. These artists were all migrants in Paris, having to deal with the things migrants have to deal with. Problems in their new country (nationalism and anti-semitism) and longing for their old country.

I loved this painting by Marc Chagall, it shows that although he lived in France, he still was a Russian, longing for the culture he left behind.

I find that the more I see of Marc Chagall's work, the more I like it! It makes me very happy.
