New tableware (so nice!)

My new tea-mugs. (aren't they lovely!!)
Last week I decided to buy new tableware. I was laughing a bit when I did this, since I just wrote an article about being more minimalist, and this was anything but minimalist. In my defense I can say that most of my plates and cups and bowls are 15-20 years old, and there are many pieces that had chips missing.

Marjolein Bastin is a well known Dutch artist who always makes the most beautiful drawings of wildlife, flowers, birds etc.
From her designs you can find bedlinnen, dishcloths etc. And tableware! Think all kinds of plates, cups and saucers, glasses, mugs and bowls.

I replaced most of my tableware and I am so pleased with it. The design of my new tableware is called Wildflowers, and you can see why! everything is designed with the most exquisit drawings of wild flowers. I love it so much.

I got rid of the old and chipped items, and now I am ready to enjoy this for at least another 15 years.

I was reading a good book and enjoying coffee in this beautiful mug.
Blue violets are my favorite flowers, so I could not be happier.

  1. I do not think this is a contradiction to trying to be more minimalist. You got rid of the old stuff and purchased something that you really, really enjoy - that's not hoarding or buying more than you need :-) Love the design - Marjolein Bastin is a great artist!

    1. I think you are right, I did not buy more than I need and I only bought things I needed to replace.
And yes, Marjolein Bastin's work is gorgeous, isn't it?

      Kind regards,
