When I was in Paris last August, I could not help myself and I had to take a look at my beloved Notre Dame and see for myself what the situation is at the moment.
The whole square is locked, so you cannot get close, because it is not safe. It is also still too unsafe for restaurations. At this moment they are still cleaning up lead that came from the roof during the fire and is a health hazzard.
Also, all the millionaires who were so quick to promise millions to help rebuilt the cathedral, have not paid yet.
As you can see, it looks quite grimm, and I had tears in my eyes when I looked at it. But I do hope they will soon be able to begin rebuilding this wonderful church and make it the heart of Paris once again.
